Like A Duck To Water

Your iPhone will not, take like a duck to water. Water exposure will not only kill your iPhone, it will void your one-year limited warranty and it's not covered by an AppleCare Protection Plan. But finding yourself caught in pouring rain is not the only kind of water exposure that will turn off your iPhone. Any liquid spilled onto your phone will affect it. Your iPhone is also sensitive to humidity, sweat and prolonged exposure to any kind of moisture which can trigger the Liquid Submersion Indicators located inside your headphone jack and your dock-connector opening at the bottom of the iPhone, which means that you have to pay to repair it, so you'll want deep pockets.

My 4 month old 3GS abruptly stopped working 3 weeks ago. The store told me the water sensor showed it had been wet. After three hours more on the phone, they had me send it in. they sent it back and same result. The phone has never been wet. Surely a trained tech can tell whether a phone has been in water, versus sweaty hands or high humidity (it rained that day). I can’t justify buying another one–what if the same thing happens again. So I’m out $1,099 I paid, plus I now have to buy another phone.

Oh No, pushed in with her mobile, iPod and keys

The Nokia, was sent for repair and refused repair because of water damage. What a crock. The phone had never been near water or a bathroom, swimming pool etc. The closest it got to water was maybe a photo of water in a book. Again after complaining to Nokia I was dismissed with a snarky email. The funny thing was that the first phone was refused and I know of 7 other phones of the same model number in my own town that were refused due to water damage. Funny how the same model phone had the same problem. I do actually know of one boy who got a phone on a plan and the very next day the phone died (again a Nokia). It was less than 24 hours old. It was sent back to Nokia for replacement only to be returned as water damaged. This phone had left the shop, had a trip in the car home and was put in his bed room and the next morning was dead. Nokia refused to do anything about it. This was not a cheap phone neither. It was one of their top end models. The lad was left with a 2 year plan and no phone.

So what is the golden rule!  look after your electronic devices, they are all very sensitive to moisture, you wouldn’t take your new LCD wide screen TV out into the weather or down the beach and expect it to last long, but your mobile is just as expensive and fare more vulnerable to moisture and we put them thru hell.

He didn't want a shower, he also didn't want his phone ruined.
